ECO-SECURITE is an onboard decision support system for large vessels, which will limit structural risks and help with through-life support, while optimising fuel consumption.

This project applies to vessels of between 150 and 400 metres in length: container ships, oil tankers, cruise liners and the naval surface fleet. While the vessels are still in port, their captains can establish the conditions and route for their mission: their speed, course and the length of the voyage – all based on hydrodynamic modelling of the ship and data about the ocean, weather, tide, wind and currents.

Once the ship is at sea, the system will set the key safety parameters – operational maintenance and fuel consumption – and will recalculate and recalibrate the route.

ECO-SECURITE has a human-computer interface which allows it to be deployed by non-expert users. It will ultimately be possible to adapt this onboard decision support system, which helps with both economic and environmental aspects, to other types of ship such as fishing or other specific vessels.

The ECO-SECURITE project is also officially recognised by Pôle Mer Méditerranée.
